At least, in my experience.ĬCCP is NOT a standalone player, like VLC is. And where VLC falls short, CCCP takes charge. Windows-only Combined Community Codec Pack is exactly what it says (and no, it’s not the Russian federation): it’s a pack of codecs collected by the community to play every single media type that exists. Again, augmenting the annoyance.Īnd then, CCCP comes to the rescue. And knowing VLC (and every single media player for that matter), clicking on the position bar is always inaccurate and would take you elsewhere, like 5 minutes or so off. I don’t know what you call this type of lag - flicker? Jitter? It’s the kind of annoying hiccup that causes a certain frame to freeze for 5 seconds or more, while the audio plays normally and continuously, sort of making you miss all the action and you having to rewind a few steps back. Such was the case when VLC started to lag on my Wind0ws 7 圆4 system. #Cccp media player classic 720p#What else can you use to play all those cryptic sounding file types? Or those 720p movies you ripped from somewhere? It has become such a huge part in the daily entertainment routine that when it fails, it’s a huge annoyance for everyone. Installing it on every fresh operating system has become a habit too, and you almost can’t live without it. I’ve been a VLC user for as long as I can remember. But like any other great thing, it too has its discrepancies. It can play almost every imaginable media file type, all the way from simple WAV files to MP4’s, good old AVI’s to MKV’s.
